The other afternoon I was offered the oppurtunity to stay in theAxel Hotel
!!!!!Well friends they call themeselves the Heterofreindly hotel!!!!!!talk about political correctness!!!1 This is Gay owned hotel that Is not only for gays but for all who want to stay in a frewindfly upscale hotel centrally located behind the Luxury Department storeKa De We that sells wonderful luxury articles and is close to other high end shops such as Diesel,Nike, Gucci and restaurants in Berlin.
The hotel I was familiar with in Barcelona so I was pretty excited to see after its grand opening over a year ago how the hotel really was!!!!! I was amazed since they were very professional and still very warm and friendly which is important for any tourist!!! gay or straight!!!
I was sent to my modern room on the fifth floor which gave me a nice view granted not spectacular but nice !!!!
The room very dark in décor with Black and an open shower was quite new for me But still then one is alone is quite nice I often like things that aree I later decided to check oput the Bart downstairs which I must say had besides myself and someone I met at the Bar was pretty emtp a pity since The bar is actually quite nice!!!!what I did like were the large sofas where one could have an intimate conversation and not be disturbed.The one thing I did see were two professional women who I assumed felt very at home and comfortable in this hotel where one could go have a drink and feel relaxed without getting hit on !!!!!
I later went to the gym which I must say was truly what I expected a good gym with all the amenities that one desires and for a Marathon Runner such as myself I was greatly pleased!!!!
I later realized that the Restaurant was closed which was to my disappointment since I really would have loved to have eaten there !!!!
Axel hotel is great for the young sophisticated traveler and the upscale gay traveler who is used to certain amenities and the location is one of the best between the Tauentzienstrasse and the gay and urban hip neighborhood of berlin schoeneberg where anyone any age will feel completely comfortable I say off to Axel Hotel the hotel is fun, friendly, upscale and still very comfortable.ich hatte das Angebot bekommen im Axel Hotel in Berlin zu übernachten, worüber ich erst konsterniert und dann neugierig wurde, denn sie nennen sich “das hetero-freundliche” Hotel!!! Naja, wir fragen jetzt mal nicht ob das political correct ist.
Das Hotel ist ein gehobenes “Schwul-Hotel”, nicht nur für Gays sondern für alle die ein freundliches Hotel mit gehobenem Anspruch suchen. Es liegt sehr zentral, hinter dem Lusxuskaufhaus schlechthin – dem Ka De We und vielen anderen Labels wieDiesel,Nike,Gucci.
Ich kannte Axel Hotel schon aus Barcelona und hatte mich sehr gefreut, als es vor einem Jahr auch in Berlin seine Pforten öffnete. Somit war ich gespannt, wie sich das Hotel seit der Eröffnung entwickelt hat. Ich war erstaunt: der Empfang war höchst professionell und sehr freundlich ohne gekünstelt zu wirken, was für viele Touristen, egal ob homo oder hetero, ein wichtiges Kriterium ist. Ich bekam ein Zimmer in der 5. Etage, welches sehr modern eingerichtet war. Nicht überragend fantastisch – aber im Großen und Ganzen ganz hübsch. Es war in dunklem Dekor gehalten, viel schwarz und eine OFFENE DUSCHE (!) – das war neu für mich, aber ich war alleine und somit war´s egal.
Nachdem ich mich eingerichtet hatte, entschied ich mich in die Bar im Erdgeschoss zu gehen. Diese war sehr schön – leider auch sehr leer. Die gemütlichen Sofas gaben der Bar eine “lounge like” und intime Atmosphäre und man hatte das Gefühl, in seiner Privatsphäre nicht gestört zu sein. Mir fiel auf, dass hinter der Bar ausschließlich Frauen beschäftigt waren, was für manche Frauen die als Gäste kommen sicherlich als angenehm empfunden wird.Ich bin eine sportliche Person und ein Marathonläufer, daher ist mir der Fitnessbereich in einem Hotel sehr wichtig. So war ich positiv überrascht, dass dieser Bereich sehr gut ausgestattet war und ich war mehr als zufrieden.
Leider hatte das Restaurant geschlossen, was sehr schade war, denn ich wollte hier essen. Axxel ist ein schönes Hotel für den sophisticated Reisenden (schwul oder hetero) der einen bestimmten gehobenen Anspruch hat und der die Umgebung zwischen der Modestraße Tauentzienstraße und der Urban Gay sowie den Hip Kiez von Berlin Schoeneberg bevorzugt. Auf jeden Fall wird er sich, egal welche Altersgruppe, in dieser Gegend wohl und willkommen fühlen.
Mein Fazit: Axel Hotel in Berlin ist freundlich, spaßig in gehobener Atmosphäre und dennoch sehr entspannt. Viel Spaß, meine Freunde!
