Last saturday evening I was in Berlin Kreuzberg the Boheme multi cultural district of Berlin where you truly get the Berlin vibes those that make Berlin so special and unique!!
After a Gallery visit I was told about a restaurant that I should visit that was dedicated to the Korean cuisine since I have to admit I have not had much experience with the Korean cuisine ,I decided to go out with my date and friends to Kimchi Princess in the Skalitzerstrasse, well at first they told us they were fully booked but that does not stop me from going and trying anyway to get a table and guess what BOOM!!! we were in.
I got us a small table after meeting the Manager by the name of Andrea granted not very Korean but the guy was from Nothern Italy very cool and eclectic, he got us some drinks at the small Bar and we relaxed and I was excited too see what kind of fanfa wir haben uns entspanntre we would have.After a short 15 minute wait we were escorted to our table upstairs where we indulged in the Korean cuisine!!!
The place was simplistic in decor but still had something very original, fun and young !!
the place had a mix of Hipsters,Normal Folk and Korean tourists meaning the food is probably good.
The decor with large long wooden tables where you sit with others , I felt really made the place have a friendly and still a comfy chic atmosphere, I felt very much at home.the lighting upstairs granted was a bit dark but still the atmosphere was nice and I thought a great place for a first date!!!!!
we decided on our meals my friends had a a spicy sauteed Pork in a spicy sauce served in a searing hot wok I never realized the Korean cuisine had so many spicy dishes,the dish was for two and the guys received a large portion and I had vegetables with tofu and rice which was quite tasty and spicy , my friends later told me they loved their food of course we had the extras of spicy cabbage,fried wonton, which were truly to die for!!!!!
for drinks we decided on Korean beer and I had a Prosecco yeah thats not very korean but hey I love bubbles.
The music and people mix were good however we decided to leave unfortunately, since if they had a lounge I would have stayed!!!!!i liked this place young, sexy, good food and the service was quite good granted we are in Berlin so its not perfect but was good quick and they were friendly!!!!
Take a bite out of the Korean cuisine and go to Kimchi PrincessAm Samstagabend war ich in Kreuzberg Berlin unterwegs – für mich das Boheme- Mulit-Kulti- Gebiet, wo man die wahren Vibes vonBerlin spürt – was BerlinBerlin so einzigartig besonders macht.
Zuerst besuchten wir eine Ausstellung und danach gingen wir zuKimchi Princess essen. Uns wurde erzählt, dass dieses Restaurant eine Art Hommage an die koreanische Küche sein soll und somit ein „Muss“ für alle Korea Liebhaber. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich sehr wenig Erfahrung mit koreanischem Essen habe, doch diese Beschreibung machte mich neugierig. Wir gingen also zu Kimchi Princess in die Skalitzerstraße -und natürlich war alles reserviert. Ich ließ also meinen ganzen Charme spielen und tatsächlich wurde uns ein Tisch „freigeschaufelt”.
An der Bar traf ich Andrea – den italienischen Manager von Kimchi (sehr cooler und sehr kreativer Typ)– der uns dann auch gleich mit Getränken versorgt hat. Nach 15 Minuten wurden wir dann nach oben zu unserem Tisch geführt und somit in die Welt der koreanischen Küche. Das Dekor ist einfach aber hochwertig, jung und frisch – es hatte etwas Originelles. Ein Ort für Hipster, Normalos und koreanische Touristen. Jetzt war ich nur noch gespannt auf das Essen.
Wir saßen an einem großen Holztisch an dem mehrere Menschen zusammen sitzen können. Es war im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Räumlichkeiten, in denen größere Menschenmengen an einem Tisch zusammen gepfercht werden, eine komfortable und chice Atmosphäre – ich fühlte mich gleich zu Hause. Die Lichtstimmung war ein bisschen dunkel aber ich dachte sofort „ein toller Ort für ein erstes Rendezvous“ – und das trotz der vielen Menschen an einem Tisch (!)
Doch nun zum Essen: Wir entschieden uns für Tofu mit Gemüse und Reis (sehr lecker!) und ein spicy Sauteeschwein im Wok – wer es scharf mag, kommt hier völlig auf seine Kosten. Das Gericht war für 2 Personen und die Portionen waren reichlich. Ein großartiges Essen! Die frittierten Wan Tan waren der absolute Hit. Meine Freunde tranken dazu koreanisches Bier und ich Prosecco (Yeah! Nicht sehr koreanisch – but I like it!)
Obwohl der Mix aus Menschen und die Musik wirklich gut war, wollten meine Freunde nach Hause. Gäbe es dort eine Lounge, wäre ich sofort geblieben, denn ich mochte diesen Ort von Anfang an. Jung und sexy, gutes Essen, der Service war gut, schnell und freundlich – mein Fazit lautet somit: Willst du koreanisch essen gehen – geh zu Kimchi Princess!
