Dining on the water at the “Rio Grande” in Berlin Kreuzberg!!!

RioGrande-Berlin sounds like something Tex Mex !!! but thank goodness it’s not!!!! actually it’s comfortable and easy going restaurant with a nice cuisine!!!The other evening I was out with my guy pals and since we are always interested in new places to dine we decided to try out this restaurant which ,turns out not only is it located on the “Spree” the canal waterways of Berlin which can be so romantic and one forgets completely that your in the city!!RioGrande-Berlin with it’s comfortable decor and beautiful scenery you are in for a delightful surprise!!!! for both the taste buds and the eyes !!!! friends who can ask for anything more ?

Well on this evening the clientele was relaxed, nothing uptight and since I was coming from work this was just the right place for me to dine and relax with friends. So my friends started off with a asparagus soup which they stated was well prepared delicate and still aromatic and I decided on lightly sauteed mussels served on green beans and tomato combination and accompanied with a light potato puree yes it was unique and I loved this dish it met up to my expectations.Enjoying the evening we later had our main courses which included a a really good (Zander) Fish Filet with Spinach that was in a light Vegetable Sauce which was a delight and tasted as good as the plate looked!!My friends decided on Wiener Schnitzel !!!and a side order of the very traditional potato salad which they both were happy with !!!!!We had a Open bottle of White wine I and I had as always my bubbly of Sparkling white wine which was quite good no cheap sparkling and so that made the evening for me!!!! at the end I decided on a chocolate Cake desert which I must say after the really divine main course I was a little let down by my desert still!!!! I enjoyed this restaurant!!!and enjoyed the service which was good not great but attentive and friendly.

I must admit I am a snob about good service even when you have demanding customers like myself!!!The atmosphere is quite relaxed and therefore it’s a come as you are restaurant and you will feel relaxed and welcomed here it’s a no attitude place and that’s always good to know when you want to just chill dine and relax!!! The evening was not inexpensive we paid roughly for a table of four a little over 100.00 Euro the price was not outrageous so if your willing to give out a little you wont regret the Riogrande-Berlin in Berlin Funky Kreuzberg district.

Love Sean!!!!
