Operatic Delights@ the Komische Oper in Berlin

I remember being told one that there was not a city in the the world with three opera houses and I had to correct them.Since Berlin has this honor a while back I went into this Opera house to attend a Prokofjew opera Der Feuer Engel “The Fire Angel”. Initially I was not a fan of this Opera House but over the years it has become one of my favorites and a true cultural jewel in Berlin. This particular opera house was built by the Communist in Germany in the 50’s and has built itself with International artist such as Rene Jakobs that have turned this house into a major heavy hitter. Some of the Best operas I have ever seen have been performed here and this Modern Complex with its Classic Interiors makes it an interesting architectural sight. However the music that is performed here is really what makes this house so special .You may be able to get some tickets at the last minute so try your luck at the “Komische Oper” which Performs Operettas to Opera to Dance. Located in Berlin’s Mitte district the Komische Oper has so much to offer for the music enthusiast.

P.S. While there take a look at the plaque and bust that are in memory and dedication to the artistic work of Walter Felsenstein the founder of the “Komische Oper”.They have a program in the Summer up until July so that one has the opportunity to experience the operatic arts that Berlin are world renowned for.

Let the music play!

Love Sean
