Before entering Julius Eulberg’s apartment in Prenzlauerberg take off your shoes: you won’t regret it. The bio cosmetic guru will have you sit on the carpet of his living room. There you will remain, in a lotus position, under his spell, surrounded by a quantity of porcelaines and precious objects, oblivious of time. Magnetic, visionary, esoteric, Julius combines an inclination for luxury and beauty with a very spiritual nature. Since he was a child he loved to mix moistorizers, shampoos and conditioners for his mum, who “always had very dry hands”. No wonder, after making a flashing career in fashion he moved on to the beauty industry. In 2002 he created his own line JULISIS
, the most extraordinary skin care products you will ever hear of. Extraordinary are the ingredients: gold, silver and precious stones, along with the purest herbs (grown at 700 meters above sea level) and the white blossoms of the orange tree. Even more extraordinary, the methods of production: take the knowledge of ancient Ayurveda medicine, add it to the alchemic tradition of Paracelsus and blend it with modern omeopathy. The results are simply amazing. Julius enumerates the virtues of precious metals. Platinum has a rejuvenating power (see platinum treatment woman/man) due to its capacity to erase the memory of your skin cells, in his words:“to get rid of your bad skin Karma”. That’s how we learn that mineral oil (e.g. Paraffinum liquidum and its likes) builds up a “protective” film to fill up all wrinkles and lines, but the bad news are: it prevents your skin to breath. Who would have imagined that, in the long run, most products on the market accellerate the impact of aging instead of preventig it? Another of Julius “donts” is alluminium. Recent research has linked breast cancer with the use of aluminium-based, underarm antiperspirants. It goes without saying that Julius’ deodorant “Liebling” is entirely made of natural ingredients, like the rest of his line. Il guru della bio cosmetica ci ha fatti accomodare sul tappeto, dove siamo rimasti seduti nella posizione del loto, circondati da una quantità di porcellane e oggetti preziosi, ad ascoltare i suoi racconti. Visionario, creativo, magnetico, Julius concilia l’inclinazione al lusso e alla bellezza con un’indole fortemente spirituale. Ci racconta che fin da bambino si divertiva a mescolare creme, balsami, sciampi per capelli “per mamma, che aveva sempre le mani secche”. Dopo una carriera fulminante nella moda, è passato all’industria dei prodotti di bellezza, per poi creare nel 2002 JULISIS: la linea di prodotti per la pelle più sorprendente che si sia vista negli ultimi anni. Straordinari sono gli ingredienti: oro, argento, diamanti, e una quantità di erbe coltivate ad alta quota, per garantirne la purezza, tra cui i profumatissimi boccioli bianchi del fiore d’arancio. Ma ancora più straordinari sono i metodi di produzione, che combinano l’antico sapere della medicina Ayurvedica con la tradizione alchimistica di Paracelso e la moderna omeopatia. Un’attenta pulizia, possibilmente con detergenti a base di schiuma (gold wash day; silverwash night) e una corretta idratazione, con creme che stimolino l’attività cellulare e che la pelle sia in grado di assorbire.
