Well officially the Asparagus Season in Berlin will end on the 24th.I thought about how crazy Berliner’s becom for thier Asparagus, and since moving to Berlin.I have become addicted to White Aspargus myself. This week I went off to the Restaurant Duke in the Ellington Hotel in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. The restaurant with its modern decorum and  spacious seating. We took a table at the window and decided to order drinks White Wine Riesling and a Beer.We were offered fresh bread both Light and Dark breads which were fresh and good which makes one truly relax since after having had the bread our expectations were pretty high.

I must admit I was delighted about my meal for the evening, surprise “Asparagus” true it is not hard to prepare however ,one can over or under cook Asparagus which can ruin this vegetable delicacy. The Asparagus was cooked to precision  and since I am one not into the heavy sauces I decided on having my Asparagus Served with a Fine Olive Oil and Parmesan Cheese.Which I must say was not great since the cheese was already grated and not fresh so I was a little annoyed, however the Asparagus was tender and good, after finishing our dinner .

We decided on not having desert ,however we were still treated to a small plate of Petit Fours of Macarons and Chocolate.Quite tasty indeed.I enjoyed the evening at the Duke the service was attentive  not perfect but then again one cannot expect perfection constantly.

The Duke a nice alternative when looking to have dinner and not sure of where to go,and dont forget The German Asparagus ends this week.

Love Sean
