We all decided to celebrate my nephews Birthday at a slightly Posh Anatolian restaurant inBerlin‘s upscale district of Charlottenburg at the Ludwigkirchplatz to be exact!!! So I really did not know what to expect since even though I adore the Turkish cuisine and since I am in Berlin and there are a few good places I was still a little skeptical if the place was really good!@!!
Well first I arrived to the restaurant Honca which was decorated with hanging lamps !!!! which accentuated the very enticing oriental atmosphere but not too overbearing so my eyes were pleased at what I saw!! I was approached and brought to my table by a very friendly head waiter!I sat and relaxed with my friends and Family and i I ordered my usual Sparkling White wine Cremant and a glass of water from the Tap since I refuse to buy bottled water and the rest at the table had a bottle of a Turkish Kavaklidere Red wine which was a good choice that accompanied the main courses well!!!!!!!
So since I was dieting no appetizers!!!but I tried the bread ! which was served with olive oil which was terribly good !!!! I enjoyed the relaxed but well maintained atmosphere!!!!!!!I decided on a Tender Filet of Perch !!!which was served with large sauteed Mushrooms in a Light delicate creamed Sauce!!the others had Lamb that they all stated that the lamb was one of the best they had in some time combined with mixed Onions and rice the servings were a good size and still very light. I think we were amazed that even though the food was filling it was never overtly heavy!!!!! I must say If I were a fish I would just have dived into my Main course It was impeccable and the Mushrooms also just divine!!The Meal was perfect and even though they were a little late with serving our meal ,the friendly service made up for the wait!!!!
Since I was pleased with my meal!!!!! I decided on a Turkish Pudding with a wildberry confiture on top this was delicate and light so was a great accompany for the evening !!!it was a nice light alternative when one is looking for something for their sweet tooth!!!
So when in Berlin and looking for a nice alternative when looking for another Cuisine then think Turkish delight!!!!The restaurant Honca is not cheap so if your looking for a bargain you wont find it here but the food was absolutely to die for so Honca is definitely worth a visit!!!
My Meal cost roughly 38 Euro this included to Sparkling White wines A Main Course and Dessert!!!
