Before The summer ends! You must go to the restaurant Resort! Invalidenstrasse 50 in Berlin Mitte
On the waters of Berlin in close vicinity to the Modern Museum in Berlin the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum.
The restaurant is not on the normal traditional streets of Berlin and this is what I love about Berlin you have to be a little creative think out of the box!
The restaurant is located hidden behind a Parking Space,it is a little hidden and very intimate ! Intimate of course the people are a little well heeled but still all very relaxed so a fashionista like myself who was tired and not really wanted to go out that night this was a nice surprise.
The location and the nice setting
Well we arrived the place was not full since the evening was not very warm but we had blankets if it got too cold, did I mention everything is outside and only with a roof and against an old building so one gets only breeze from the water from the canal since the restaurant is located on a canal.
We were greeted friendly no attitude just cool given a nice table since the place was not full and had a view of the open kitchen which still is always nice to see creative folks cooking fabulous fanfare!
The cuisine is Mediterranean fanfare with a modern twist, true in Berlin everyone tries to develop the Italian Cuisine which is not easy since most in Berlin don’t do it well.
But hey you try!
We ordered our food First my partner and I has had a Seafood Salad that included lobster,crab,and octopus which was well marinated in olive oil and lemon and well seasoned. The taste was well quite nice and the food well executed because it’s not always easy to get a seafood salad right.My partner had a Mediterranean Salad with Potatoes which I must say was even better than my dish, it was a little heavy due to the potatoes but the taste was quite unique, oh and did I mention that this was all done with me sitting by the water and with all this made the atmosphere feel very nostalgic. I thought about my nights in Capri that says a great deal.The main course was just a delight for the both of us we ordered a steak with some very tasty skinny french fries simple however well executed.
I had a Vegetarian dish which was Aubergine with goat cheese and Cous Cous very Mediterranean or better northern african however the dish was good not perfect but good.
Accompanying my partner’s meal was a fine Pinot Grigio, we were full and in quite good spirits we were greeted later by the waiter who was friendly and relaxed who suggested to have desert and since the atmosphere was so relaxed I decided to have the delightfully tasteful Blackberry Fruit Tarte served with a little dash of Ice Cream .We Left after some small banter with the cool staff it was like being on a little vacation in Berlin.
I must say I enjoyed the place It was nice and intimate and I loved the fact that its on the water 1 I guess I must say go now since this Restaurant wont be there for long since when it gets cold the doors will close but this place is a very nice extra to Berlins crazy mosaic.
We left but thought we could go back it wont be my favorite restaurant but most definitely I would recommend it! The place costs us roughly 89,00 Euro for two which I think is pricy,
but not crazy insane with their prices !I say go take a look and of course a little bite
you may also go for a drink since they have a nice terrace even though with Berlin’s weather
you have to get a good day!
P.S. By good weather you can go for drinks on the Terrace it is quite nice and relaxing!
