Sissi!!!!Cute Austrian Dlning in Berlin’s Schoeneberg!!!!

I have a wonderful girlfriend who I always meet a few times to chat for Dinner so this time we decided to eat at Sissi-berlin
an Austrian restaurant in the gay district of Schoeneberg!!!! The Restaurant is named after the German born Austrian Princess Elizabeth that all call so lovingly Sissi-berlin!!So of course you can imagine that we were up for some good fanfare, the Austrian Cuisine can be a little heavy and even though the Austrian cuisine is good it’s this restaurant mission to offer the Austrian cuisine for the modern taste bud!!!
We were both not very hungry, however we were both more intrigued to look around at the very urban mix of both modern folk and a sprinkle of the trendy Berlin/gay community here in Schoeneberg!!!!

The decor of Sissi-berlin is very eclectic with classical floral wallpaper , wood furniture ,chandeliers and candle holders to all give the place an aura of eclectic grandeur, and still the place has a wonderful rustic touch with the various pictures sprinkled around of Sissi give the place a quirky, fun and gay feeling!!!! The restaurant is not really spacious but still warm and inviting and the dark lighting gives the place a little dark cinematic flair!!!!
We decided to sit outside since it was still warm in berlin and god knows the summer was for the birds !!!Finally seated we investigated and ordered the orange Lentil Soup as a starter and the Austrian dumplings in a mushroom ragout !!!!!very traditional but friends very delightful!!!Due to the weather being so warm I decided on Apple Juice Spritzers since we thought we should take a break on the booze!!!!

Before we received our meal we were given a delightful dark freshly baked dark austrian bread with a
red beet cream spread that was new for us both but we thought the taste slightly tart but combined with the dark wholesome bread made for a unique combination!!!!Bettina and I just chilled and enjoyed the
very relaxed and friendly service !!!!the service was not perfect but hey in Berlin one cant expect the best !!! however they
were cordial so we felt welcomed and I say bravo. So after our meal that was good and I must say the dumpling ragout dish was true Austrian cuisine at its most heartiest it was good comfort food that was well prepared and hit the spot in a very good way!!!The soup was a simple fanfare granted but I enjoyed this light and delicate soup! !!!!!Delicate and still good.

After such a simple and delightful evening we left Sissi. I enjoyed Sissi-berlin
it’s a nice neighborhood restaurant in Sissi-berlin where you get both a very adorable atmosphere and some good Austrian fanfare all at a really fare price together our meal cost us roughly 40 Euro !!!
Granted this was without the booze but the Wine list is good with reasonable prices so you could leave full and tipsy without breaking the bank!!!!!I will be going back!!!!and since they are open from 12 in the afternoon till lae evening a lunch is in order here at some point

Love Sean
