Italian Delight in Berlin’s Schoeneberg Osteria Ribaltone!!!!!

The other night I decided to try a restaurant that I thought was always quite good! So going quite hungry and even though Barbara and I do not agree often on Italian Cuisine in Berlin her view has been often it’s never as good as in Italy and me living in the Tuscany region myself this I do understand but some do get it right at times and this was the case the other night!

I visited a Restaurant that is quite cute called “Osteria Ribaltone” in the Motzstrasse of Berlin located in a little corner this place has good Italian cuisine. The restaurant that has a quite unique décor with bicycles and sporting themes but all done with creative flair that I think is quite cute and that says a lot since I hate the whole football scenario.

So on this evening we were given a plate of Italian bread seasoned to perfection with rosemary and sea salt which of course I dabbed in a good bit of delicious olive oil so again the restaurant had me.
My date and I decided to order a plate of delicately sliced and seasoned Vittelo Tonato
a wonderfully executed sliced tender veal.
that he was very satisfied with even though it was not very creative.
However friends I had a Octopus salad with lentil which I must say was quite a unique combination but was actually a true dream it was creative and the taste delicate but still spicy I believe the recipe was an old Sicilian recipe I adored the creativity!

After having had our Starters ,we had a plate of Pasta in a spicy meat tomato sauce
which my partner stated he liked since the plate was a classic recipe but so well executed and I decided on a cannelloni filled with goat cheese and Porcini the sauce was a little heavy but so tasteful and executed so well that the meal was a genuine treat and satisfied my quite demanding taste buds!

After having had our meal we decided on a Mascarpone with fresh strawberrys the dessert was
delicate and not remarkable but I did enjoy the desert the dish had a light dash of Rum that gave the desert a little edge and offered me a little buzz since I do not drink often!!!!!!

The evening included for my partner a vino Nobile de Montepulciano and for myself bottled water
The dinner was a little pricy but the meal was really good ,
the staff were friendly and accommodating since I can be a little bitchy at times! With this attribute it helps to makes the place comfortable and cozy the restaurant located in the Heart of Schoeneberg the very hip gay neighborhood of Schoeneberg, friends I say go to this nice haven for well executed Italian fanfare and friendly service!!!!!!!Love Sean
