“Happy Go Lucky Hotel”for the Budget Traveller in Berlin

“Happy Go Lucky Hotel” located in the the slightly bourgeois ,and a bit dubious corner of Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. The hotel is freaky with charm Happy Go Lucky is interesting in that you had both young and old folks from all over the globe residing in this budget hotel.I showed up late but was welcomed by a friendly italian concierge who exchange a couple of nice words with me and was actually warm so at least I felt welcomed.Waiting to check in I had in front of me backpackers from Western Germany so I realized that this place was not the Ritz but hey one is not always looking for totally upscale lodgings. The lobby atmosphere is a mixture of cafeteria ,cafe, and hotel lobby and decorated in bright ,friendly child like colors. The atmosphere is totally Berlin style in that bohemian cool kind of way that defines this city.

After leaving the front desk clerk I took my key to my room on the first floor and entered this psychedelic colorful hotel!!!

I went to the first floor and realized that the hotel is in an old apartment building so you do get an idea of how flats are in Berlin.I entered my room which was quite big for 1 person but the color scheme was not to my taste and the room was a little too

bare in decoration, which took me by surprise since I was expecting a little more, but hey the price was good and I did have wireless lan which one always need in today’s world.

The bathroom was nice, with good lighting so I did give the hotel a little credit.

I slept relatively well woke up the next morning and checked out.I decided to to take a peak at the breakfast corner which was full of various folks getting ready to enjoy their day in Berlin.Happy Go Lucky is a colorful place which does get you in the Happy Spirits, otherwise the rooms are not the most comfortable but if your on a budget and want somewhere clean and safe then it’s a good option but it aint” The ritz so be aware. Happy Go Lucky Hotel is for the young or low maintenance traveller with a small budget of around 50-60 Euro and it’s located across the street from the S Bahn station of Charlottenburg which is really convenient.

PS You have the true inexpensive option of residing in a shared room for those on a real tight budget so there is a little something for everyone.

Love Sean
