Dining Persian Style in Berlin at Hafis!!!!

Oh Gosh!!! I love trying out new places even though this place has been around for ages I was never there so when my good pal!!!! Reza said here was the best place to try Persian cuisine I was in !!! I am always interested in trying new things so we were off toAlt Moabit in Berlin
Moabit is a predominately residential neighborhood with tons of various nationalities it’s also one of those districts where you find a good mix of young Berliners,Immigrants and then the traditional old Berliner!!!! which gives this area it’s flair since its truly a colorful mix!!! which makes Berlin so Berlin!!!

So off we were to Restaurant Hafis
The first thing that caught my eye was that the place was quite huge and had a albeit kitschy decor which included an old fashioned but attractive Bar since I love a little glitz every now and then!!!we were welcomed in a warm and friendly manner with all smiles and this always warms my heart!!
so after sitting down and reviewing the menu we decided on a appetizer platter that included a a flat type of warm pita bread that is traditional in Iran with various small
delicacies !!!This was a lot of fun since my friends and I were able to eat together and try out the various sauces that included a yogurt sauce, eggplant dip, marinated olives, spinach ,ands a bell pepper spread !!!! and together with the warm bread, this appetizer was not only good but eating with the fingers and talking to friends made this form of eating fun and sensual!!!!!
The various appetizers were well seasoned and I was delighted that they tasted so well!!!
After a delightful start I decided as my main course on a stewed Chicken in a spinach sauce that was slightly sweet but not too overbearing the chicken was delightfully tender to the taste and made this particular dish quite unique the dish was accompanied with Basmati rice which is a traditional side dish in Iran and me loving rice to death I was satisfied!!!
I finally relaxed !!one would think I never ate!! but anyway my meal was simple however still quite tasty, I was delighted surprised that the dish that I decided upon was good!!! I had been eyeing my friends Grilled Chicken the whole evening ,which I tried being the glutton that I am also quite good I dont know how they get their chicken so tender I must find out how they do that!!!!!! Hafis made me feel at ease, here the atmosphere was simple but nice and the service attentive and friendly, I realized here is a cozy place to eat!!! albeit we had to wait a little longer for our main course!!!! but when they are so warm hearted then it is ok that you wait a few minutes a longer since the place became quite full at one point which is always a good sign!! with a relatively fair price of 11 Euro for a main dish which would be sufficient for someone that you don’t necessarily need an appetizer its great for someone on a budget in Berlin!!!
However the appetizer with the bread I would definitely recommend since I felt that this dish was quite sensual ,tasty and had something truly authentic Persian which my pal Reza confirmed!!!!

Finally I went upstairs to their lounge decorated with the Persian Carpets ,Sofas and Accessories which through this eclectic decor made one feel like you were in a cool Authentic Persian Lounge in Iran!!!
I liked this place it was unpretentious and the food was quite good, service friendly who can ask for anything more and the prices were fair!!!!
Presently Berlin is freezing at the moment I must say it was a little chilly in the restaurant at first but it did warm up!!
Enjoy the Restaurant Hafis in !!!!!!! you wont regret the dining experience here!!! it’s a nice alternative when in Berlin!!!!!!

Love Sean!!!
