Budget Dining in Kreuzberg @ Chandra Kumari

Well This week I was a little low on cash, but a freind came to town and wanted to eat!!!So of course I decided on Indian Cuisine Indian Sri Lanken Cuisine to be exact at Chandra Kumari a small place in the Gneisenaustrasse in Berlin. Why Indian ?first because it’s good and secondly I was sure this place would be pretty inexpensive and we would get a good portion of food as well since I was famished after a long day of presenting clothes to the ladies.Well we entered the place ,remember i said this place is not an expensive location so  of course the decor could not be terribly fab,but then again I was here for the food.We ordered our  meals a Curried Banana Dish served with Rice and Salad and I decided on a Spinach,Lentil Blend with rice and a small salad   with a side order of the freid Bathura bread to dip into our “Dal”(Lentil Curry).

The Meal was good not great mind you, the seasoning was good in our main courses .However my “Bathura” Bread was a little bland that was a disappointment since I love this bread.

I ordred a white wine since I was told there was no spakling wine how tradgic but then the white wine a Sauvignon was good and my date  stayed on the safe side and had a mineral water .

We were full but decided that we should try the Banana Shake surprise the Shake was fresh and actually good. This place is for when you have little money but want a quick bite,it’s not fabulous but will do the trick the atmosphere is actually relaxed with a lttlle hippy feeling but actually nice when you want a totally no fuss place to dine and the service was really pleasant but then again they should be.Remember it’s not fancy but hey does it always have to be? I say no.

Chandra Kumari is very Berlin ,totally Grunge!!!

The Meal Cost 27 Euro for us both a true bargain in Berlin.

Love Sean
