Kreuzberg use to be the neighborhood where most thought was not cool enough!!!Today it seems to be getting too fancy and very hip at times .On Saturday evening I went off to dine in this restaurant that turned out to be a place for good service and good cuisine!!!!Altes Zollhaus located discreet side street in Kreuzberg one can find this well run and upscale restaurant, with a modern but still classic cuisine.Berlin is having finally a stint of good weather so I was fortunate enough to get a table outside. With their white linen the place is not really my cup of tea in décor, however the food need I say more!!I started my first course with Pike fish on spinach which I thought was delicate and perfect as a starter. For my main course I had a Roast Duck served with apples , vegetables puree and a potato pastry like latke !!!The “Classic Sekt “Sparkling white wine was not my thing but since they did not have champagne I had to do without!!!but then again the white wine Riesling I thought was divine
and the discreet atmosphere of this place was perfect for a nice dining evening in Berlin!!!The place is a little pricey however the evening was worth it, it’s perfect when you want to dine with the family
or with business associates.
