The Bottecelli exhibition recently opened at the Berlin “Gemaeldegalerie” which is located close to the Potsdamerplatz. This museum often is forgotten due to Berlin having so many other artistic venues, however this exhibit in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert museum is a pure artistic delight.
The exhibit is themed after the world renowned painting of Venus from Bottecelli. What makes this exhibition unique is that the exhibition is based on the theme of the Venus painting however the exhibition takes us beyond just the renaissance era but art spanning several centuries. Here the museum presents various artist who have used the theme of Venus as an artistic motive. The show presents various artists over the centuries that included designs from the designers Dolce &Gabana, photos from Pierre & Gilles and paintings from the Pre Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The exhibition presents to the viewer how a subject matter over a large period has continuously influenced artist for centuries. The exhibition is informative, and entertaining.
The Bottecelli exhibit is one of those delightful and still informative exhibitions that inspire and make
one smile and yes this show is worth a visit.

I was told about this studio ,concert hall in the very gritty .multi cultural district of Wedding .
It took me a while ,however now that I have found this place it will remain a must do when in Berlin. Regardless of whether Jazz or Classical music this refurbished former warehouse /garage has become a place that is a must when in Berlin. On this evening the concert was from the pianist Michael Abramovich performing Fredric Chopin .
The performance from this young artist was not only good and intense ,however the atmosphere of this concert hall makes a musical performance all the more special. The fee is by donation meaning you give what you can on this evening due to the wonderful concert and due to the fact that this concept is self financed ,I felt t compelled that I must help conserve young inspiring artists and concepts such as this. The atmosphere very quirky with a mix of old furniture, paintings, and old instruments. The Concert hall also has a small make shift bar which is also conducive to the artistic atmosphere. The crowd a good mix of old and young, hip and traditional ,it is a venue that welcomes all which makes this place even more special..The Piano Salon Christophori is a place that I must say when in Berlin!it is a must go and be musically enthralled.
Concerts are not performed every day so check out their website for performances.

Every year in Berlin ,the city comes alive with young Musicians from across Europe to Perform at the Konzert Haus at the Gendarmenmarkt. This year one will hear music from some of the best young orchestras with musicians aging from 14-24 ,performing pieces from Beethoven to Tschaikowski.
I had the opportunity to Young Portuguese Ochestra directed by Pedro Carniero. An evening that had me breathless at the precision and wonderful musical talent of this young orchestra.
When in Berlin until the 23 of August one should visit this classical music series, and one thinks there are not many young classical music enthusiasts, here you realize classical music will live forever through the passion of the youth.
P.S. Tickets are pretty inexpensive so go and support this Festival you wont regret it!!

There are times when you hear about a film or play or some other cultrural event and one thinks to themselves,I have to attend that particular venue.Well when I heard about the Film Dior and I which follows the New Christian Dior Creative Director Raf Simmons,I knew I had to see this film. One hears about a film and everyones a critic.I do believe that this film is for any Fashion ,Lifestyle enthusiasts. It follows the designer with his first Haute Couture show and introduces one to the behind the scenes and what it takes to create such a creative endeavor. The film is full of humor, poetic moments, and glamour. It takes one literally into a worlds where fashion and style reigns. The film is a must for any design enthusiast. Raf Simmons and Dior what a combination ,that i think works so well!!

During the Gay Pride month of June there is always a great deal taking place in Berlin.
Every year the the Motzstrasse turns into a Gay Pride Street Festival. Here you will find a two day celebration, celebrating the Gay and Lesbian community ,this event brings both the local Gay/Lesbian,Transgender and International community together .Here you not only have time to meet and make new friends ,however you have the chance to inform yourself about what is taking place in the gay community both culturally and politically.I was amazed to find out that there will be a marathon in Berlin this Fall with the proceeds going Berlin Aids Hilfe Project. There were various other organizations who both try to get their message out there to the community, and for others who want to inform the gay and lesbian community about the work other Companies and Organizations are doing .Regardless of where you come from, here in Berlin during this two day street festival, you have the opportunity to have a drink ,listen to music ,eat and be both intellectually and culturally inspired. Here I learned a great deal about what is taking place in Berlin’s Gay community.Go out and share this annual celebration that honors diversity in Berlin.
